Special Donation to Support the ARC of Martin County
a pristine 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer for auction!
This classic Grand Wagoneer in excellent original condition was bought new in 1989 by Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kiplinger, of Washington, D.C., Seneca, Md. and Sewall's Point, FL (site of their family's historic 1909 Bay Tree Lodge). The Kiplinger family of journalists and publishers are famous for The Kiplinger Letters, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, and their philanthropy in Washington and Martin County.
The Wagoneer resided at their Maryland farm, Montevideo, where it towed Austin's horse trailer to fox-hunting meets and served years of Gogo's tailgate picnics at steeplechase races held at their farm. (Gogo's monogrammed mats are still on the front floor.)
After Gogo's death in 2007 and Austin's in 2015, their son Knight continued to maintain and use their beloved Wagoneer. He and his wife Ann, recently donated it to the ARC of Martin County (Advocates for Rights of the Challenged), so that the proceeds of its sale at this auction can further the ARC's mission of supporting young adults with autism.
